Anamala Tiger Reserve- Annamalai - Indira Gandhi National Park – Top Slip & Parambikulam
The Anamalai Mountain range of the Western Ghats is located 240 m (800 feet) from the sea level. Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park (IGWLS&NP) is a protected area, of 958 square kilometer situated in the Anamalai Hills of Pollachi, Valparai and Udumalpet taluks ofCoimbatore District and Tirupur District, Tamil Nadu state of South India. Infact .it is one of the most prorected beautiful nature preserves in South india. Anamalai Hill park rises steeply through deciduous jungle and bamboo thickets and sightings of Elephant, Gaur, Deers, Water Buffalo, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Civets and Leopard are common during the early or late hours of the day. Moreover it hosts an array of colourful birds. Topdlip is a hamlet within the park. The name is from the teak logs which were 'slipped' to the plains below down a narrow canal.
How to reach Anamalai Tiger Reserve . We have to drive 10 Kms from Chungham Jn in Valparai- Pollachi road . the exact name off the location is Sethumudi. There is a Pay & Use toilet Facility for fresh up just in front, on left side of the entrance.
The morning entrance time to the reserve (Topslip) is 7 am. Bus service is also available from Pollachi to Topslip,etc
